A Little Bit About Myself

I have been actively involved in the antiques industry for the past thirty years.  My interest in antiques began when I purchased a large, turn-of-the-century, Mediterranean style home on the North Shore of Boston and began looking to furnish and decorate my home.  Built-in 1902 by a prominent Boston Brahmin family, the house was built as a summer residence and sporting estate but had been abandoned for nearly three years prior to my purchase and needed total restoration.

Homewood House, the original name of the property, was from another era with huge rooms, an elegant staircase and living room the size of a small ballroom.  One look at the beautiful arched loggia and I was smitten.  I then spent the next thirty years renovating, decorating and redecorating the house.  It has gone through many transitions which I plan to cover in my DéCoR blogposts.

My passion for collecting eventually became a business, as I later purchased objects and furniture for resale.  For the past ten years, I have been immersed in the antiques and fine art industry as Director of Marketing for a local auction company, now in its thirtieth year of business.

My interest has always been in Continental antiques, and European decorative arts.  I strive to find quality antiques for my clients that will easily fit into a contemporary lifestyle. Antiques can give a decorative focal point to a room and make a beautiful statement around which to build an entire design.

I am available to my clients, decorators or private customers, to source antique furnishings, to provide decorating advice, and as a knowledgeable resource for continental antiques.
